The Chastain Veterinary Medical Group is seeking a FT or PT Associate Veterinarians to join our well-established, multi-doctor practices in the north Dallas and/or McKinney areas of Texas. 

Whether you are just starting out or are a seasoned hand, you’ll be working with a team of experienced general practice veterinarians and an exceptional support staff. All of our facilities are well managed and similarly equipped with everything a small animal veterinarian needs to provide the top notch care that our patients need as well as the personal attention that today’s clients demand. We are fortunate to have a high end clientele at all of our practices that value their pets and generally allows complete work-ups. Our facilities are equipped with Ultrasound, Surgical Lasers, Endoscopy, full dental suite, digital dental x-ray, digital regular radiology & more. 

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university.
  • Licensure in good standing to practice veterinary medicine in the State of Texas.
  • DEA and Texas DPS Controlled Substance License in good standing.
  • Living accommodations within reasonable driving distance of work location.
  • Professional in demeanor,  appearance, dress and conduct.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Upbeat, friendly, can-do  attitude.
  • Ability to multi-task, make decisions, use staff and other resources wisely and communicates clearly with clients and support staff.

Illustration of Typical Responsibilities

  • Develop a rapport with clients and their pets; determine their needs, taking into account the family’s love insights and preferences.
  • Perform physical examinations on companion pets
  • Perform routine Diagnostic laboratory and basic Medical Imaging Tests
  • Diagnose small animal veterinary medical conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans
  • Competently perform general small animal surgical and dental procedures
  • Refer patients to local specialist when this would be in the patient’s best interests.
  • Communicate clearly and completely with clients, explaining physical exam findings and test results in common terms.
  • Work with support staff to educate clients on preventative health care, including vaccinations, wellness testing, and appropriate pet nutrition.
  • Maintain medical records and keep all necessary log books up-to-date.
  • Assist colleagues with their cases when time and circumstances indicate
  • Stay up-to-date with new developments in Veterinary Medicine
  • Assist in the professional development of the support staff to ensure cohesive delivery of high quality pet care and exceptional client service.
  • Represent the Chastain Veterinary Medical Group in a positive manner within the veterinary professional community and among the general public

  • Compensation: based on production; typical range is $85,000 to $100,000 Plus
