Boarding If you need to get away, why don't you? It's OK! But this time rest easy and enjoy yourself knowing your pets are in good hands.

We offer veterinary supervised pet boarding, at affordable rates, at both of our locations - Meadow Brook Animal Hospital and Preston Road Animal Hospital - for all of the kinds of animals we treat - dogs, cats, companion birds, ferrets, rabbits, iguanas, hedgehogs, hamsters, guinea pigs, snakes and assorted others (Sorry! Can't fit a camel!).

Your best friend will get good wholesome food, fresh water, a "comfy" bed, and will be checked on frequently, played with and exercised. Special food or special medications for your pet while he or she stays with us is not a problem! Just bring them along. There is no extra charge for heartworm preventive brought along with the pet. Other medications or special dietary needs can be accommodated at a nominal extra daily charge.

Yes, we do have temperature controlled pet kennels at both locations. They are safe, functional and adequate for their intended purpose.

None of our kennels have direct outdoor access. Outdoor dog walking is not safe or feasible at our Preston Road location in north Dallas due to the small size of the lot and immediate proximity of a large multi-lane freeway.

Our Meadow Brook location in McKinney Texas sits on five acres and there all boarding dogs are routinely walked outside twice a day. Extra walks and personalized pet play time are available for a small extra cost. Each hospital also has a hospitalization ward to handle intensive cases with close monitoring by skilled nurses and veterinary assistants.

Remember! Vet supervised boarding is safe boarding! Can you trust anything less?

Boarding Prices vary by species of pet (dog, cat, bird, etc), type of accommodation (small enclosure, run, etc), location (Preston Road or Meadow Brook) and extra services desired (grooming, vaccination and so on).

Policies

  • Boarding fees are calculated per night.
  • Pets may be dropped off and picked up for boarding during regular business hours only. We are sorry; we cannot accommodate release of boarding pets after regular business hours.
  • Personal pet items (blankets, toys, etc) may be left at your own risk. We are sorry, we cannot accept responsibility for loss of or damage to pet personal items.
  • All dogs, cats and ferrets admitted for boarding must be current minimum standard vaccinations and free of internal or external parasites.
  • First Day Set-Up fee applies to all dogs and cats presented for boarding. We're sorry: this fee is not negotiable or optional.
  • A small additional fee will be applied for those pets requiring medication to be administered while they are boarding.

Grooming - Your choice: Basic or Fancy?

Basic Pet Grooming

Basic Grooming Our nursing and kennel staff is fully trained to perform basic pet grooming procedures such as nail trims, baths, dips, fur de-matting, wing trimming, and pet bird grooming ("wings-n-nails"), etc.

Nail Trims (dogs and cats) - no-charge nail trims are available Monday through Saturday, at each location, courtesy of our veterinary nursing staff. Nervous or unruly pets requiring more than one or two staff members to complete the nail trim may incur fees.

Anal Gland Emptying - tired of the stinky smell and mess? Our nursing staff is fully trained to properly and safely empty a normal dogs anal glands. There is a small fee for this service, but then you the pet owner don't have to mess with it.

All professional pet grooming include a nail trim, simple ear cleaning and anal sac emptying. Note that certain Minimum Immunization and Parasite Control Requirements do apply. Please telephone ahead for details.
